The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) was established in 1976 as an autonomous division of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The mission of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties is to improve patient care and increase awareness of the need for BPS Board Certified Pharmacists as integral members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams through recognition and promotion of specialized training, knowledge, and skills in pharmacy and specialty board certification and recertification of pharmacists throughout the world.
Board Certification through BPS has become recognized as the gold standard for determining which pharmacists are qualified to contribute at advanced practice levels. Through the rigorous standards mandated by BPS board certification and recertification, the BPS board certified pharmacist stands out as the most qualified to accept today’s expanding professional expectations.

ravi kumar You have to clear Fpgee exam and Toefl then have to do internship for about a year then give naplex and mpje then practise as a pharmacist for about 3-4years. Depending upon choice of your speciality you have to spend time in that specific speciality then you should have at least post graduate training of 1 year. Then give board certification exam of pharmacy in field of choice in which you are interested. To get more info go to bps website on google and see pharmacy board speciality program.

Thanks for the really good info, I have worked mostly in critical care satellite pharmacy . Where coronary care, icu, and step down unit are the main area of CCP. I wud like to take bps ccp exam , what are the main source of examination material.

Hello, We currently offer specialty certification in 6 areas of pharmacy (Pharmacotherapy, Oncology, Ambulatory Care, Psychiatric Pharmacy, Nutrition Support Pharmacy and Nuclear Pharmacy). You have the option to hold as many of these certification as you wish but we only offer one specialty certification exam each year per applicant. For more info visit the BPS website.
